the Weekly Rundown: Millennial Influences + Simplify, Simplify

Seasons and salt blog

Hey guys! There’s a clear theme this week. Grab a snack and saddle up for some inspiring reads.

Millennials – who make up a fourth of the U.S. population, and $200 billion in buying power – are positioned to make big changes on the fashion industry’s bad habits. Their collective social media presence nearly “governs” the industry, and at the same time allows them closer access to brands, often demanding more detailed information in their supply chains. Could this be the beginning of major change?

One of the best ethical shopping guides I have seen.

Buying less has a lot more influence on your life than you might think. Some surprising benefits you might see too.

“Make peace with the fact that your personal style will not always reflect what’s trendy.” Best advice ever. Reading and re-reading this list on how to cultivate a smart closet.

A “minimalist-ish” family of five shares the benefits of their simplified lifestyle. It IS possible, even with small kids! Hint: more time spent on fun, less spent on stuff.

If I didn’t have a toddler in the house, I’d probably be making these DIY plant stands. Although I would probably keep the wood natural instead of white. But power tools kind of scare me.

A peek inside the life of my friend Paige, as she’s interviewed about how simplifying her wardrobe has changed many aspects of her family life.

Cheers guys!

  1. Great reads! I love the idea of accepting that your style won’t always be trendy. Good thing I have you to keep me on track😆
