Mini Portland Tour 2.0 + Only Child

Hi guys! Today I’m taking you on another mini tour of my beloved city – Portland. In the spring we checked a few of my favorite haunts, including Powell’s and Pok Pok. Today, I’m keeping it close to home and taking you to a few of my favorite westside stops.

Coffee. Portland and coffee. They pretty much go hand in hand. You could throw a stone in almost any direction and hit a coffee shop, but they are not all created equally. Barista is one of my favorites, because it delivers. Latte √. Drip coffee √. Expensive √. (But so worth it!)

And when I’m drinking coffee, I like to just chill and be photographed.

I’m kidding! I’ve partnered with the talented Haley Tucker of Only Child on this post, she sent me some beautiful fall pieces to style for you guys on my little Portland tour. I hope I do them justice! :) The Sutton Blouse, and the Madelyn Wool Coat are some of my favorites from her Fall/Winter line. Every season Haley keeps stepping up her game. For someone who is so new on the design scene, she leaves me impressed every time! Check out her new FW16 lineup, and don’t forget to leave her some Instagram love.

On to the tour!

One of the toughest choices I’m faced with as a Portlander is: where to eat. The list of great options is so endless, I often suffer from decision fatigue! Or I’ll wayyyy overthink it. So I’m always thrilled when there is something new and nearby that narrows down the field a bit. Pine Street Market opened in the spring, and it’s been a quick hit in Portland. It’s a home run for me because it houses popular area eateries under one roof, taking out some of the guesswork in that age-old ‘where to eat’ question.

I like to describe it as a ‘fancy foodcourt.’ The indoor marketplace features family style seating, with a festive vibe. You can order Greek, Japanese, Mediterranean and my personal favorite: roasted chicken from Pollo Bravo. And the radicchio salad, well I never knew a salad without greens could be so good. We love coming here because everyone can eat what they want, and it’s loud and noisy, so our kids blend in – ha!

And finally, probably my favorite Portland activity of all: walking around! I have hit miles of pavement on these westside streets from north to south, and I never, ever get tired of it. The people watching is probably my favorite part. Observing folks in an urban setting guarantees variety. There are smartly dressed people hustling to and from their jobs in tall buildings, street performers singing on corners, tourists (always, tourists), families, young artsy-types, students, hipsters, the list goes on.

Portland is a big, beautiful, welcoming city, and for a girl who has lived in ten different places, I have never felt so at home!

  1. Love love love it! (Of course, I love everything about this town.) The pieces look beautiful on you and Pine Street Market is such a cool spot.

    1. Thanks Rebecca, the shade of blush is just perfect! It’s very subtle, but still warm and rosy.

YES! Come to Portland. Please let me know when you decide to come, so we can plan to meet up. :)
